Stephanie Harvey: Curiosity Is What Really Drives Us

Written by Digital Editor | Aug 11, 2015 4:30:32 AM

Can we teach curiosity to students? Stephanie Harvey doesn't think so. Children are innately curious, she says, and we shouldn't teach curiosity so much as foster and nurture it. "They come into kindergarten bursting with questions," she says.

In this video Stephanie Harvey acknowledges that educators need to model curiosity—every single day—so that students know to remain curious throughout their education.

The Comprehension Toolkit Series from Stephanie Harvey and Anne Goudvis has all of the language and teaching moves to model curiosity in the classroom and build students’ reading comprehension.
