We are happy to share that on Monday, December 10, Heinemann author Marilyn Pryle was named Pennsylvania's Teacher of the Year in recognition of her innovative teaching and dedication to her students.
At a reception held at the Hershey Lodge, Marilyn thanked her students, family, and peers and spoke about the joys and challenges of teaching.
Marilyn was chosen out of a line up of 12 educators from around the state. She will represent Pennsylvania in next year's National Teacher of the Year competition.
Marilyn currently is an English teacher at Abington Heights High School in Clarks Summit, PA and has taught middle and high school English for over twenty years. She is the author of several books about teaching reading and writing, including 50 Common Core Reading Response Activities and Writing Workshop in Middle School. Most recently, Mairlyn is the author of Reading with Presence: Crafting Mindful, Evidence-Based Reading Responses.
