Grades 3-5: “Multiplying by 4”

This resource uses students’ understanding and mastery of ×2 facts to build a foundation for understanding “multiply by 4.” It includes a literature link and activities (with supporting graphic organizers) that you can use in your classroom right away.

Grades K-8: “Three activities for addressing SMP 3”

SMP 3 focuses on helping students construct arguments and support their thinking. This resource provides three strategies you can use to incorporate more discussion and debate into your math instruction: Eliminate It, My 2 Cents, and Agree or Disagree?

To hear more from Sue about effective math classrooms, check back on our blog each Monday through the end of the year.
