A Resource For Breaking Down Asian Pacific American Bias

Written by Lauren Audet | Mar 30, 2021 9:26:33 PM

On March 17th, 2021 Heinemann made the following statement in response to the killing of 8 people in Atlanta, 6 of whom were Asian Americans:

Heinemann strongly condemns the attacks in Georgia on March 16th where 8 people were killed, 6 of whom were Asian Americans. According to Stop AAPI Hate, there have been nearly 3,800 instances of discrimination against the Asian-American community since last March. At Heinemann, we believe it is our collective duty to speak up and speak out against racism and violence in all its forms. We stand with the AAPI community and send our support to AAPI educators, students, and administrators.*

Today, We would like to share with you a resource from The Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center that explores the long history of Asian Pacific American Bias in the US and was developed specifically for teachers and caregivers who teach. You can view all the videos and materials from the The Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center at the link below.
