In this series, we will focus on remaining questions you may have about signposts, as well as covering essential topics such as:

  • effective assessment
  • integrating signposts into independent reading and poetry
  • identifying fake news, one of the most significant reading challenges today.

Session 1: Mastering Signposts and Assessment Techniques
  • Discover methods to evaluate students' comprehension and recognition of literary signposts.

Session 2: Identifying Fiction Signposts in Poetry and Complex Texts

  • Consider how noticing signposts can enhance students' understanding of intricate texts.
Session 3: Leveraging Signposts to Detect Fake News
  • Equip students with the skills to use nonfiction signposts to identify and challenge fake news.
  • Teach students how to apply nonfiction signposts to uncover author bias and intent in various texts.
