Teach Students Strategies for Reading Digital Media

Written by Jennifer Moore | Aug 4, 2020 9:00:00 AM

Whether you're teaching remotely, teaching in the classroom, or some hybrid of both, digital texts and media offer a wide range of current, relevant information and perspectives.

This blog is the first in a miniseries of blogs with free downloadable lessons from the authors of Read The World, Kristin Ziemke and Katie Muhtaris. These flexible lessons help to support students in acquiring the skills they need to thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally—in today’s digital world.

This lesson focuses on how to teach students a transferable protocol for inquiry while they explore the images, articles, and videos that you have curated for them. Students can use this structure repeatedly to build their autonomy in interacting with multiple and increasingly complex texts.
