We’re very excited about Upstanders. Sara Ahmed (@SaraKAhmed) is an important new voice for the profession, and Smokey Daniels (@SmokeyLit) and Heinemann bring her amazing classroom to you in this book.
In Comprehension & Collaboration and Best Practice, Fourth Edition, Smokey featured Sara’s teaching. In Upstanders Smokey shows us her practice up close. We watch as Sara weaves content, collaboration, skill building, and engagement to help her kids transform from bystanders who pass the course but passively watch the world happen to them to academically successful “upstanders.”
